The Questionable Empire made Friends! That too, wi The Questionable Empire made Friends! That too, with Mischievous Children!

JUST when we had concluded our first season of the drawdown quiz, and the crown had only JUST taken a ten minute breather, something ABSOLUTELY unfamiliar happened.

These misfits have always had a bad habit of tampering with scientific tempers. How unusual then, that for neither rhyme nor any reason, the emperors chose to make amends in this monsoon-less season?

Needless to say, the Climate Action Live team has internally developed a lovely temperament for science, thanks to our beloved Chief of Introspections, quizmaster, and mainly Quixotic tamer of donkeys, Berty Ashley. And SO WE RETURN, ONCE AGAIN, FOR ONE LAST EDITION of the Drawdown Quiz!

This bonus 11th episode (with 11 questions) is by Fiza. She is our team's in-house solutions data gatherer, and like Bert, loves eating puzzles with a side of mischief!

So hunker down, and comment with your answers below. 👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

A note of thanks:
We have come a pretty long way (in just over a quarter of a year). All because of your enthusiasm. In a world full of climate news that bashes us into believing that we are absolutely doomed, your passion to do something about the changes has been contagious! All of us ought to pat ourselves on our backs for our lack of cynicism that your presence has nurtured!

It is 9.30 PM in India and the first weekday is co It is 9.30 PM in India and the first weekday is coming to a close. With a new dawn tomorrow, a new cycle of generating power will begin, with a renewed set of questions about energy. Does it work like we imagine it to? Will our power grid retain the energy that our now expansive solar infrastructure is able to produce?

So first, here's some good news: At 12:29 p.m. on July 13, India achieved a record 42.79% solar and wind power generation – the highest ever share of variable renewable energy (VRE) in the grid. Wind and solar together generated electricity at a rate of 103.7 GW, another record.

Yet, the sun and wind aren’t enough. Why? Because here’s intermittency.

What does that mean and how do you tackle it? Our team is here to explain, check out the article 🔗'ed in our bio.

THE EMPIRE IS CONFUSED! Chief of Introspections, THE EMPIRE IS CONFUSED!

Chief of Introspections, Head of Scientific Tempers, and our very own quizmaster at the Homely Ministry, Mr. Berty Ashley, has an important announcement to make!

"Friends!", he says, "The monsoon sesh is in order, this is the final countdown! There is no turning back now! Let's show them what it means to riddle, for this befuddled empire ought not be cradled!"

(Berty has always had a thing for rhymes.)

We know you've loved his weekly appearances, but now that he's done his deed and y'all have risen to the age of question(able) empires, he is off to feed the donkeys (he's also very Quixotic).

BUT NOT WITHOUT ONE LAST SHOWDOWN, FOR 'TIS THE AGE OF QUESTION-ED EMPIRES. THE GONGS HAVE GONGED! (subject to marketable risks)

*T&C: Try and you might win (like we've already seen). But please read the offer documents carefully before resisting.

The game this time is OBVIOUSLY very tough. Boss level and all that. You see, from quiz wizard Deeptha Vivekanand to Berty, the crown has taken ten, so play well, and help Climate Action Live come ALIVE.
