About the Organization
The Central Pollution Control Board is a statutory organisation constituted in September 1974 under the Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1974, with functions under the Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act 1981 and Environment (Protection) Act 1986. CPCB conducts monitoring, enforcement, and advisory functions on air & water pollution control across India.
